Love: How Your Connection to Your Mother Creates Your Guidance
Laments of Love: Our Relationship to Motherhood is What Forms our Brotherhood
A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts — Washington Irving
The definition of nourishment lies in how warm we feel in life, for we radiate that warmth to all those we welcome. And to have them stay, we have to share some of what keeps us numb. And it’s our mother who holds such guidance.
We absorb what we want to see and reflect what we actually see. Our perspective is limited by who we allow ourselves to see. But what we do know is that our parents will always be with us, in heart and home. We have to set them up for success by understanding their needs and strengths. We can’t expect more than they’ve already given us, but we can build on that and give back, even if but a fraction of their affection.
They’re going to have faults, so be sure that you haven’t absorbed that. It’s easy to take in the negative without even realizing it. But all it takes is some thinking to eliminate that inkling of filth. We should aspire to make leave the world for the next generation because all you reap today are efforts of how far we’ve leapt. This is why we need to take what we have and make use of it because we’re our limitations and talents. As long as we understand, we can take one step forward.
A Product of Your Own Sums
You’re a product of pleasure and a path of pain, but whether you turn into a trove of treasure lies in how you train. For you can go away into the wilderness and learn of life’s lies or you can remain and live a real lie, but either way you’ll be welcome back, because the truth isn’t as a black or white, it’s a grey blanket that will always basket your confusion with all its might.
