Yellowjackets follows an American high school’s female soccer team’s disaster as they crash on an island when flying to nationals. This sudden twist in status quo forces them to adapt to the ambiguous terrain, but as every forced camp trip, this comes with its own tribulations.
What’s slimier than the sweat between their skin, deadlier than the howling creeping into their ears, and pricklier than sudden cuts and bruises? Yea, we’re talking about secrets. They come out when you’re trapped together, and some new ones form when you grow attached to one another.
But what makes Yellowjackets different from your run-of-the-mill survival story is the fact that we know these girls survive. We get to see them live out their days and deal with the time they had lost. But more so, the story isn’t over even 25 years later. Whatever happened in their past seems to be chasing them years later.
We primarily follow Shauna during the present day, along with Misty, Taissa, and Natalie. Well, those four are the main ones during the survival too, but there’s a lot more going on as a whole. So yes, this is one of those stories where the past is…
