Severance revolve around the idea of the ideal work life balance, where we can live each life separate from one another. We follow Mark S who is employed by Lumon to carry out secrets tasks on a computer while Mark Scout, his real, outside self has no idea what happens at work.
It’s an interesting premise which tries something new but remains that at best as it fails to induce any strong emotion or writing within its plot or character. Not to say the show is bad, but it’s more a showcase of the potential it could be if the show didn’t play it so slow and steady.
The mystery behind the severance and how it connects people’s work and personal lives is what drives the watching experience, while it tries it hand at customizing the narrative with its colorful cast.
