Ode to Overwatch: Two Heads in the West
If the first week was anything to go by, we were definitely in for some exciting games during the second week. But the 2022 Overwatch League’s second week surpassed expectations set from the premier weekend.
The exciting showdown between the San Francisco Shock and Houston Outlaws ended in a dominant win from the Shock, placing them as the top team in the West at the time.
While the Outlaws put up a strong fight in the second half as Merit truly came alive, FiNN, Kilo, and Proper stole the show. Proper was winning fights left and right on the frontlines, that when FiNN received the Player of the Match it was a bit shocking. Though Proper got his reward during the game against the New York Excelsior, so it’s all good now. We observed him play the Soldier: 76, Tracer, Echo, and Genji all at a high level — a true hyper flex player. FiNN was also hitting some insane Sleep Darts as Ana too.
With Viol2't surprisingly good Lucio to Kilo’s consistent hitscan merit, what I truly want to address is Coluge’s Winston and overall Tank play. He doesn’t feed for the extra kills, he’s always there for his backline (primarily FiNN), and he demonstrates great game sense — playing around the high ground whenever possible and using his shield to…
