What a fantastic chapter that delivers on One Piece’s strengths all the way through.
Bonney, acting as the arc’s princess, gives us emotional details on how she feels about her father, Vegapunk teases a past with Dragon which estbalishes more lore and sets up more plot, the Strawhats interact with one another, the cover story brings real implications and progression, we get more world building through creative action in Law vs Blackbeard, we get more setting related to Egghead, and the overall vibe is one of mystery as we have no idea where we’re headed.
Aokiji Captures Pudding
The fact that we got the cover page to reveal that it was indeed Aokiji that was creating a ruckus on Whole Cake Island makes for an interesting setup as to if Katakuri will fight Aokiji for the sake of his sister.
Caesar, Capone, Germa, and Katakuri could even team up against a common threat.
Pudding teases that Big Mom won’t be happy about her capture, which is Oda just teasing that Big Mom will make a return. Hopefully, we’ll see Big Mom go all out against Blackbeard, something we still haven’t seen from her.
