One Piece Chapter 1059 Review: Chaos on Love Island

Finally, a chapter that puts good use to One Piece’s expanded cast. It’s like slowly pieces are making moves across the ocean, but just how will all these events cumulate into one epic clash?
Even though we’re in the final saga, we’re far from the final arc. And we have no idea where we’re actually going yet. Perhaps Elbaf makes most sense, but with how much inspiration Oda got from Norse and Vikings material, it may be a bit off to have Elbaf as a short arc.
Either way, I’m glad we’re exploring other parts of the world, mostly the important character we’ve not seen for a while. I do hope to see some Kuzan and Weevil at some point.
Katakuri vs Oven is a sweet and spicy way to introduce the chapter, perhaps an extended metaphor all the way through.
We get some closure as to what happened with Marco and Yamato. It’s interesting to see how highly Shanks rates Marco even now. I’d love to see some all out between commanders. As for Yamato, she has some more depth as she shows responsibility as to why she’s staying on Wano.
But at least got to see a clash between Blackbeard and Hancock. Well, not as much of a clash but a…
