One Piece Chapter 1057 Review: The Worst Ending to an Arc
Voice of One Piece: An Underwhelming End to a Lackluster Arc
One Piece endings are some of the most impactful and rewarding aspects of each arc, which makes this case only hurt Wano even more.
Oda presented us with pure filler which also just reused scenes from the past. This is something he didn’t do before and is what made the weekly experience worth it.
But this time, we barely got reveals and the arc just ended without any major consequences. It’s like they just feel some casual enemy and then even an Admiral ran away for no reason.
Momonosuke crying makes sense, but then also goes against his whole speech to make Wano stronger. I suppose, he’s emotionally attached to Luffy as a child, but it didn’t seem very presentable for a leader. But worst of all, what was even the point of Yamato’s character or even Carrot after we learn neither are joining Luffy’s journey.
It’s less about them joining or not but more about what role they had in the story. Both ended quite underwhelming as they didn’t achieve much, and now that we know we won’t learn more about Yamato, it’s interesting why she got as much focus at the expense of more relatable characters.
