One Piece Chapter 1053 Review: A Whole New World

This was a really fun chapter. Finally some pay off with Luffy, Kid, and Laws bounties being revealed. Luffy and Buggy have also been deemed as new Emperors.

It’s interesting seeing Morgans do whatever he wants, especially inflating and highlighting Luffy as a menace to the entire world, opposed to what the World Government wants. Journalism really never dies, huh. He’s a delight to watch and interact with as he messes with the world at large through such simple yet effective means.

I do wonder what CP-0’s interaction with the Big Mom Pirates was like. Would be nice to see something from Smoothie for once.

Law once again finds bounties a problem while Luffy is excited by them, and Kid just wants to take advantage of the situation.

Robin meeting Oden’s father, and asking about how Pluton is in Wano was definitely a core aspect of this chapter. She knew about this for very long yet just kept it to herself. That was smart of her, considering how the others could have easily slipped…
