The fact that I got to binge One Piece chapters from 1019 to 1044 heightened the entire experience which lead to Luffy’s Sun God Nika reveal.
Oda played us all over the reveal that the Gomu Gomu no Mi was really the Hito Hito no Mi: Nika.
It’s amazing just thinking about the fact that Luffy is a Mythical Zoan. It opens him up to potentially doing anything with his powers now that he’s Awakened.
It brings One Piece back to its roots with how anything is possible, just like we saw Luffy in the beginning with his assortment of attacks. Everything Luffy shows us something new, it’s some of the most creative aspects of the series and any power system I’ve ever seen.
I like that we’re shifting back to Devil Fruits, and not just Haki. We’ve seen a lot from Haki, but it’s a bit limited in creativity, and so with Luffy’s new powers only restricted by imagination, we’re going to be treated by some of his best moves ever.
