Perspective into Review:
It’s difficult to categorize Oldboy as either a revenge story or an unexpected romance, but anyways, it leaves us thinking about if it’s ever worth pursuing what we think we want.
The premise follows Dae-su Oh who is suddenly captured and trapped for 15 years in a room. After some time, he’s released and plans on getting his revenge.
The overall happening of events are quite poor and forced with the villain just teasing Dae-su like a child. This is one of those films which puts a lot of weight on its reveal, but that very revelation is strung upon such specific yet bittersweet actions that makes the film cheap.
