Moments of Meditation: Allow Your Surroundings to Sink In
There’s always so much around us, whether in view or queue but we fail to notice the world around us. Humans are selfish, it’s baked into our survival instincts but so is the ability to care for everything else and go beyond our own selves.
Sometimes, we need a change of pace to get out of our heads. Our lives becomes patterns, circles and cycles, but we have to break our own ilusions — the realities that things are what they are.
We’re so much more, but we don’t see that when we’re trapped. And the best way to get out is by accepting that there’s more to us than just us.
Perhaps, this is why responsibilities exist in the first place. To give every task and moment some weight and appreciation. To find the discipline to pursue greatness beyond ourselves. To help someone by helping yourself. To find fun in the process.
Our environment is a system. Yes, we can stay by ourselves, but is that truly living? A lot of us may feel comfortable in our own bubbles, and that’s fine too. But every now and then, we need perspective. Another way to approach the same question.
Improvement is less about growth and more about acceptance. There are things we can’t control, but…
