Mental Health Matters: Tiny Tip 15
Moments of Meditation: Your Failures are the Permanence of Your Improvement
Every day is a new opportunity to connect with ourselves. A way to find what works, what we enjoy, and where we want to be.
But most of all, it allows us to accept ourselves, for all of what we are, the good, the bad, and the ugly. And that’s something we share. It may be personal, professional, public, or private, but it’s the truth.
It allows us to connect with what has been, hence our failures. There’s no success that’s permanent, so improvement is all about how failures cement us into someone better.
We can call it experience, memory, luck, or intuition, but there’s just no denying the past.
But the actual idea is not to see it as a negative aspect, but a part of our being. It’s not necessarily a fun experience, but one that’s brought up this far. And sometimes, it’s great to nod towards our success too, and perhaps some lucky few of you have only ever seen it as constant success.
This isn’t a belief or bias, it’s simply accepting that improvement comes to taking one negative aspect, spinning it around, and welcoming in some form of change.
Perhaps our entire lives is a form of failure that is constantly pushing itself towards success. That’s one extreme to it. But essentially, it’s really just a constant, one of the few friends we have.
We know with certainty that there will be uncertainty, so let’s forget the mystery and be our own harmless absurdity.
