I haven’t had the longest relationship with Medium, but I was happy with their flexibility and customization. It has a nice theme going for it… well, it had.

Medium felt like a comfortable site any writer could come to start a blog, especially those who didn’t feel the need to set up their own Wordpress site. It offered interesting options to place your images or even write wherever you were, allowing you to write or access drafts in progress. You didn’t have to focus too much on earnings, if it works then it works, but if not, you still had a writing pad (pal) by your side.

But it seems like Medium is slowly but surely removing everything that made is great one by one.

At first, they moved the ability to align and fit in our pictures. While they never had the ability to allow us to font our text, I still felt like I could add some unique touches with how I added pictures. Those that felt fitting to the site, yet without feeling too in your face.
