Team Overview
Nam-joo “Striker” Kwon hasn’t just returned to the Overwatch League, but he’s returned to the team he was originally on, the Boston Uprising. It’s difficult to predict just how good Boston will be in the 2022 Overwatch League season, but all eyes will be on the Tracer player.
Striker was a central piece to Boston’s 2018 perfect stage and San Francisco Shock’s back to back championship run in 2019 and 2020. Very few players have had such success in the league. It’s largely attributed to coach Dae-hee “Crusty” Park mentorship as he coached Striker during each season. It’s going to be interesting how well Striker performs without Crusty’s guidance.
If we remove Striker from the equation, it’s difficult to warrant any hope in the team. Byeong-ju “Valentine” Kim’s didn’t live up to the hype during the 2021 Overwatch League season, but I hope that his partnership with Striker sparks some rejuvenation from his contenders days.
