The Atlanta Reign had an awesome, almost surprising, 2021 Overwatch League season. After struggling to reach a finals game all year, they upset the Dallas Fuel to reach the 2021 Overwatch League Grand Finals.
While how the Grand Finals played out was not as exciting, the overall level of play definitely raises expectations for the 2022 Overwatch League season, but there’s been enough changes to us with some questions. And that’s a huge but standing in their way, and oddly enough, it’s probably the one that you’re thinking about right now.
Yes, their star player, and Rookie of the Year, Pelican has departed from Atlanta and has found new abode with his friend Piggy in Houston. So… yup, that’s going to leave a mark. But that’s not all, they also lost their support pairing, Iris and Masaa.
Though, what’s truly devastating for the 2022 Atlant Reign is that their assistant coach, Unter, has moved to Los Angeles Gladiators. The Reign saw a resurgence when he joined during just before the…
