The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is still the game to beat when it comes to open world narrative based game play. While Elden Ring gives us a magical world to explore and God of War establishes a heartwarming dialogue between Kratos and Atreus, The Witcher 3 blends the best of both worlds, connecting characters, plot, and world building.
It’s going to be a difficult to top what The Witcher 3 brought, and so they should definitely try to go for a different take on the series.
The Witcher 4 should keep itself true to its roots, still evolving everything The Witcher 3 did well, but also focusing on where it didn’t excel.
Combat and Abilities
Contrary to popular belief, I think The Witcher 3 combat actually does something right. At the forefront, it’s quite generic, but I think to some degree is captures the type of combat the books present while trying to give us a bit more witcher based passive effects.
